Dr. Brown founded TerraVerde in 2009. Since then, he has been deeply involved in California legislation and regulation regarding clean energy, including crafting legislation guiding development of California’s Prop 39 Clean Energy Jobs Act. He has continued to work closely with the Prop 39 Citizen Oversight Board and California Energy Commission Staff to refine and improve the Prop 39 program guidelines. He was involved in the passage of SB 585 in 2012, legislation that filled a $400 Million gap in solar rebate funding. He also led the effort to have the California Association of School Business Officials (CASBO) select TerraVerde as its energy strategic partner in 2013. More recently, he has been invited by the CPUC to provide testimony at numerous proceedings, including: net metering, battery storage rebate programs and serving disadvantaged communities.

Kevin RossVP Business Development
Kevin manages business development for TerraVerde in Southern California, focusing on water agencies, school districts, public utilities, and municipalities. He is responsible for account management, project feasibility assessments, project development, and implementation planning. At TerraVerde, Kevin has led the implementation of complex Rule-21 projects involving new tariff structures (e.g., RES-BCT), integrating solar and battery projects into new and existing self-generation opportunities. He is a long-standing member of the Association of California Water Agency (“ACWA”) Energy Committee, providing thought leadership and guidance over a variety of technology, and utility policy issues.

Jen PetherickDirector of Projects
Ms. Petherick leads the development and execution of TerraVerde’s Solar and Advanced Energy Storage projects. Previously Ms. Petherick worked at GCL Solar Energy managing the implementation of utility scale solar and battery projects. Prior to her position at GCL Solar Energy, Ms. Petherick worked at a number of solar power companies developing and managing commercial and utility-scale solar projects including Pacific Utility, Belectric, Opti-Solar and Solar Integrated. She has a B.A.Sc. and M.A.Sc.in Electrical Engineering and is a licensed professional engineer.
Karly Zimmerman FoggBusiness Development Manager
As Business Development Manager, Karly develops new opportunities and programs with a focus on distributed energy resources. In her role as a Project Manager, Karly oversees the design, engineering and construction process of projects. She provides technical and financial support from a project feasibility stage through contract execution, design, installation, and project completion.
Ali Chehrehsaz is a founding partner at TerraVerde and is the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of Engineering. Ali leads the engineering, development, and asset management teams at TerraVerde. In this role, he has built and led teams of project managers, energy engineers and software developers who have enabled TerraVerde to successfully execute and manage over $327M of solar, battery storage and energy conservation projects on behalf of our clients in California.
Brandon HartmanProject Manager
Brandon is responsible for managing solar, battery, and energy efficiency projects for TerraVerde’s clients, from project kickoff to final closeout. At TerraVerde, he has managed over 28 MWs of solar construction projects including PPA, cash and financed projects. Additionally, he has assisted several School Districts to obtain, plan, design, and implement energy efficiency measures utilizing Proposition 39 and California Energy Commission ECCA 0% interest loan funding.

Robin WeldyAsset Management Engineer
Robin is part of the Asset Management team where he monitors and coordinates maintenance for solar and energy storage systems for our clients. He ensures contractual warranties are fulfilled and issues are resolved in a timely manner. He also works with the Proposition 39 team by performing site and equipment audits, performing energy and cost savings calculations, and drafting energy expenditure plans for California Energy Commission approval.
Storn WhiteDirector of Software Development
Storn leads software development team at TerraVerde. He is building systems for modeling the financial performance of proposed renewable energy projects and for monitoring the operational financial performance of existing projects. His work will also be used to develop the advanced analytics to implement TerraVerde’s distributed energy resource program offerings for Community Choice Energy and other agencies.
