On February 3, 2022, the California Public Utilities Commission issued a notice that the proceedings regarding the Proposed Decision to change the Net Energy Metering (NEM) Program are officially on hold. “The proposed decision, which was issued on December 13, 2021, will not appear on the Commission’s voting meeting agenda until further notice.” The notice states that the Commission needs additional time to “analyze the record and consider revisions to the proposed decision based on party comments.” In addition, the notice expresses the intent to hold a hearing, to be scheduled “at a later date”, in which all of the Commissioners will participate in oral arguments. Additional details on the proceeding and schedule will be forthcoming.

TerraVerde will continue to provide updates as they become available. In the meantime, if you are considering new solar project opportunities, now is the time to determine the scope of those projects and submit interconnection applications to your electric utility while the current NEM Program is still available. As independent advisors, TerraVerde Energy would welcome the opportunity to meet with you and discuss how we could support you assessing your solar project opportunities and submitting your interconnection applications.
